Coney Island

Coney Island is peninsula located in South Brooklyn, New York.  It is bordered by Sea Gate to its west, Brighton and Manhattan Beach to its east, and Gravesend to its north.  It is most well-known for its history of amusement parks and beautiful beach facing the Atlantic Ocean. It is also home to Brooklyn’s minor league baseball team, the Cyclones, which plays at MCU Park.  It has gone through multiple political takeovers and private redevelopment since the late 19th century, which is still occurring in the area today.
