Once upon a time, I was required to create a blog (titled “Adventures in Beijing”) of my studies in Beijing which was paid for by Macaulay Honors College. It has been dormant for quite a long time, but since I’ve been wanting a place to archive and share some personal family stories, here we are in 2023… after my most recent visit to China. Most of these posts are diary-like and highlight the day-to-day activities in roughly chronological order. Throughout the posts you’ll see some thoughts highlighted in a separate box like below:

Text in these boxes are smaller and contain a mixture of personal thoughts and feelings about a particular event. I don’t know if it makes it more or less noticeable in the box, but I think it’s helpful to separate some of messiness of my inner thoughts from the more descriptive documentation of what happened on a given day.

Text in these boxes can generally be skipped over if you’re more interested in knowing the events that occurred on that day rather than how I felt about them.

In any case, I hope to continue to add memories here for close friends and family to read and revisit, and perhaps I’ll reflect on my past journal entries too.
