About this project…
These short films were made by freshmen Macaulay honors students at CUNY Hunter College taking the second seminar, called The Peopling of New York. The students were broken into groups, and each group was assigned a sector that they were to focus on and tasked with finding immigrants in that sector to interview. After conducting their interviews, each group worked to integrate their footage in order to effectively share the stories and experiences that each of their subjects had, both in working in their respective fields and in choosing to leave they homeland in order to come to this city. These documentaries are our attempts to tell their powerful stories.
