Website Task Ideas:

(Listed below are the research/website tasks you indicated you would like to do.  You should communicate with each other to co-ordinate your work, working I groups, dividing tasks, a get going on the work – time is running short.

Rawan Shafi – Interview people on the street like the street vendors, other people that sell merchandise on the street, observe the street culture of Jackson Heights.

Ivonna Reda – Interview people near or in place of worship,  I could also examine impact of religion or dress (Halal food)

Juliana Daxland – Try on clothing from different cultures and talk to store owners to find out if there’s anything particularly special about what they are selling.

Aamr Quereshi – Investigate restaurants, street vendors of different restauant owners and people in restaurants or on the street.

Aruna Phekoo –interview people, investigate restaurants and/or clothing stores with different cultural clothes.

Karen Paltoo –Investigate clothing stores and different cultural cloths and investigate restaurants with ethnic food.

Reinardh Bukalan – Interview people within the Filipino Neighborhoods (Woodside ?) store owners/residents

Tyler Bianco – Interview storeowners, restaurant owners and street vendors.

Bonnie Rose – Do actual writing on website, brainstorm questions, organize data.

Zohar – Research the history; accumulate data, and organize history tab.

Avichai—Work on the timeline, use infoshare and social explorer to create customized maps based on information, will also do research.

Aislinn Deely – Same as Juliana: stores and clothing culture.

Karissa Caputo – possibly interview Spanish-speaking business people, or Christian churches; artwork/design of website

Jonathan Tepp – Investigate dynamics of grocery stores in Jackson Heights, who they’re marketing to, products, actual clientele, etc.

Tyler Bay – explore different faiths & religions maybe through research or fieldwork ( I get nervous going to new places!) Try and piece together how these different congregations foster diversity or form a new type of identity.  Also willing to look into different ethnic businesses and their clientele.

Ashley Palma – interview people, investigate restaurants and small businesses, Christian churches.

Kiran – Interview small businesses, immigrant services.
