Just a block north, we came across what seemed to be a closed off area to the public. Only realize after researching, this area is full of Harlem history. Harlem Hospital is located just around the corner, while the back seemed to have vacant houses later learning it was The Nurses Residents Home which was created during 1915 but this among other buildings like the women’s pavilion and pediatrics center will be demolished in the coming years. Right by the Harlem hospital, there was a children psychiatry center called the Kountz Pavilion.
