Approaching from the northwest corner, letters mark the out wall of the Democracy Prep Charter Middle School; C-O-M-M-U-N-I-T-Y. Across the way, the children could certainly grab a bite from the Golden Gate Deli that is beside the Chase Bank on the corner. Facing off of Chase Bank, is the Abraham Lincoln playground which provides a rigorous game of basketball or a cool dunk in the little pool hiding behind the trees. The northwest corner showcases 1 of 5 buildings that dominate the block of land (between 135th street and 138th street, and 5th Avenue up to Madison Avenue in the east direction). These five buildings come together to form a complex with a oasis of green in their center. It sort-of reflects the word community that is splayed boldy back at 135th’s opposing corner.
