136th Street

A very silent and peaceful area. It seems like a deserted or abandoned place. As soon as you walk in, you will meet a guard standing there almost as if he/ she is not welcoming you into the area. The view of that street was incredible and after researching more, there is so much history behind Harlem Hospital and surrounding dwellings. The architecture of The Nurses Residents really intrigued both of us. You would also find empty parking lots in front of these dwellings. For me, I actually enjoy this quietness. I would never ever find any quiet areas in Manhattan so this really reminded me like I am in a small town observing historic buildings.
