DIY Decorative Candle Holders
Candle holders can be given as personalized gifts or be used to spruce up any space. To make some for yourself, you will need plain candle holders of any size, glue/ sealant (I used Loctite Stik’N Seal Indoor Adhesive), paintbrushes of various sizes, and any fabric or paper you wish to use to turn boring candle holders into decorative and functional art pieces. These candle holders could also be used to hold coins, as paper weights, and taller ones could be used as flower vases.
First, cover your work surface—it can get pretty sticky!
Then assemble your materials and decide on a plan for your candle holders. I wrapped one in fabric from an old shirt and decorated the other with pieces of an expired Metro card and sections of a NYC subway map.
Apply your paste in sections on to the candle holder and onto your material.
Press the material and the holder together to seal.
To make a bow or knot, apply a dab of glue to the material before you tie it. This secures the fabric in place.
Once the glue is dry, your candle holders are ready to provide an interesting and unique centerpiece!
