If you happen to be near Flushing, make sure you check out these places for sure. Below are some of the common and beautiful sights of Flushing, Queens. One of your first stops should be below, to Flushing Meadows.

Kissena Lake in Kissena Park

If you are looking for a place to relax or for some outdoor activity fun, then Kissena Park is a great place to be. After a cleanup of the lake in 2004, the beautiful lake and the grounds surrounding the water are a perfect place to enjoy some sunshine and sleep under the trees. In addition, along the paths there is a basketball and tennis court if you are in the mood to play.

 

Queens Botanical Garden (43-50 Main Street, Flushing, NY)

Instead of sweating on the basketball court, you can also go to the Queens Botanical Garden, which is only a few blocks away from the busy streets and noise of Flushing’s Main Street. A quiet peaceful area, one can enjoy the smell of the flowers and the beautiful serenity the view provides. Also, this place has been used by several people to host weddings and other events.

 

 

For those of us who want a little history and some art, then make sure you visit Flushing Town Hall. Built in 1862, this magnificent Victorian-era building is known to be the venue for numerous music and art functions. From dance to art exhibitions, this town hall has severed the people in more ways then one.
