Orthodox Church Architecture

Astoria is a primarily residential area with certain streets and avenue lined with commercial space. Some of the most ornate structures in the neighborhood are the Greek Orthodox churches. Exterior wise, it has a typical composition of Greek orthodox churches with rounded dome tops. In their interiors, it is filled head to toe with ornate and beautiful iconography of different saints and religious representations.

Athens Square Park

This park is unlike any other in the city. Children play soccer and elders play chess in the presence of artistically crafted sculptures of Ancient Greeks figures and gods, such as Athena, Sophocles, and Socrates.
