- Present the idea of identity and storytelling
- How does one’s identity influence the stories they tell? Does society’s “story” align with an individual’s?
- Particular draw to the Deaf Community and members’ stories
- Transition: To explore these ideas of identity and storytelling within the community, I turned to theatre as a method of research, particularly documentary theatre.
Research Method/Writing Process (6 min, total=8 min)

- Introduce essential characters and their motivation/role in the play—1 min
- Brief summary of plot (explain arc of play but omit the description of the final scene)—2 min
Excerpt (2 min, total=13 min)
- Likely will be final scene (likely monologue, hopefully it will complete the synopsis)
- Short video clip or audio (if necessary, I will read/present the excerpt)
Relevance (2 min, total=15 min)
- Explain the clip—1 min
- Relevance of the play and any future plans for its culmination/production—1 min
