Chinatown: Beyond the Stereotypes

An in depth discussion was done on how the media and film tends to portray Manhattan’s Chinatown and how the viewer uses these scenes to develop their own ideas and conceptions of Chinatown before even visiting. While some of the stereotypical Chinatown sets have some truth in them, people take what they see and develop false notions about the area and its people.
