Aquarium

This is the New York Aquarium. Run by the Wildlife Conservation Society, one would be misguided if all one expected was a bunch of fish. No, like any good aquarium, there exists a multitude of species, including mammals, birds (after all, nothing says aquatic lifestyle than a penguin), reptiles and amphibians. Some exhibits include live attractions from talented sea lions (somewhere on this planet, PETA is drafting a sternly-worded petition), shark tanks for scaring–I mean amusement–to one’s delight, and several 4D films (4D meaning three dimensions and some very realistic physical effects thrown in for fun, so don’t expect to leave the theater unscathed).

As opening and closing times change with the seasons, it should go without saying that planning is a good idea. Adults get in for $14.95, seniors for $11.95, kids for $10.95, and those under the age of 3 go for free! There are additional costs, fees and opportunities, such as the theater tickets and the full experience tickets. Also, group rates are only $8.00, given a two-week reservation1.

So come on down, and don’t forget a poncho! One never knows when one needs it.
