There are three scenes that one will find on Coney Island.
The first one is the urban picture. Here, there are high-rises densely packed amongst themselves, where apartments sit atop of small businesses. They sit among a few shorter buildings, though still stand prominently from a distant view.
The second one is the amusement park. The parks are the infamy of Coney Island, being the epicenter for all things amazing, peculiar, and sometimes tragic. Here, the carnival atmosphere is impossible to miss, down to the dart and skeeball games. While even thrilling rides and attractions dot these parks, rides such as the Parachute Jump and the Wonder Wheel stand up as a testament against high-rise apartments.
The final view is the beachfront. From the Boardwalk, the sight seems so detached from the hustle and bustle of the urban vehicles belching exhaust only a few blocks behind. Fairly idyllic (and occasionally littered upon), it provides a scenic place to hang loose, for both the pedestrians sunbathing on the sands to the dinghies that sail the (hopefully) calm waters.
Amazing how one can catch the entire scene in one picture.
