“To achieve the highest accomplishments within the scope of our capabilities in all walks of life, we must constantly strive to acquire strong, healthy bodies and develop our minds to the limits of our ability.”

Welcome to my Site! The purpose of this website is to educate people on the benefits of exercise, in particular practicing gymnastics and swimming. Every day our children are becoming more sedentary and obese. They are putting themselves at risk for diseases that have been on the rise such as Cardiovascular Disease and Type II diabetes. One of the best ways to get children to be active and improve fitness is by enrolling them in a sport, where they can set goals and be around a competitive environment that will motivate them to work hard and build strong muscles and bones. I have analyzed research that has been done on gymnastics and swimming, because I wanted to see which of these sports will provide better fitness benefits for children.

On the top of the page, you will see tabs that lead to different parts of my research. The first tab explains how we can define fitness. The next three tabs summarize the three categories of fitness and will asses to what extent swimming and gymnastics develop them.  Lastly, there is a tab so that you can learn a little about me if you’d like. If you want a slightly more in depth analysis, check out my thesis located as a link on the bottom of this page.

I hope you enjoy the site!
