As a tradition, many Coptic followers tattoo a cross to their wrist to show their pride for faith.
Welcome
Welcome to the Egyptian Experience site! Here you too will have your own Egyptian experience in which you will learn about the Egyptian foods, symbols, religion and more. As you soon will realize that Egypt has more interesting aspects to it, besides the mysterious world of Ancient Egypt. This year, 2011, was a historical year in the history of Egypt. Christians and Muslims alike have fought hard for a government in which their voices can be heard. They hope for a government in which the minority as well as the majority have a say. Although a lot is know about the majority Muslim population, not much is know about the minority Christian populations.
Therefore the religious section in this site is dedicated to the Coptic Christian traditions.

Wow, that is a nice cross. What is the wording below the cross on the girls arm? What does it say?
sorry for the late response,
It says the year she got the tattoo. Many times if you see someone with this cross on their right arm/wrist you can tell they are coptic.
What does coptic mean?
The word ‘Coptic’ comes from the ancient Egyptian word ‘hekaptah’ meaning ‘Egypt’, and thus ‘Coptic’ merely means ‘Egyptian.’
The Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria is an Ancient Christian Church. It is one of the most ancient Churches in the world, having been founded by Saint Mark the Apostle, the writer of the second gospel, in the first Century.
the Coptic Church has carefully preserved the Orthodox Christian Faith in its earliest and purest form, handing it down from generation to generation, unaltered and true to the Apostolic doctrines and patterns of worship.
