From an ash dump to the center of two World’s Fairs to a place where anyone can come together and enjoy various recreational activities, Flushing Meadows Park has been through it all. Sprawling across 1,255 acres, this park has played an important role in the history and shaping of Queens. This site aims to examine that history and the legacy of the park, and whether it still affects its visitors in the same way as it once did. We hope you enjoy perusing through these pages and that learning more about this iconic park.
Sincerely,
Kirsten Baker, Nicole Baricevic, Victoria Fernandez, and Nicole Holloran
