I truly enjoyed listening to Jenny Pisani talk about her path in life, or lack thereof. It’s very comforting to be reminded of the fact that very few people have their lives planned out, or are able to follow that plan flawlessly. I like the inspiration theme, that even occupations that seem impractical or unprofitable can prove to be valid. However, I don’t know if that’s the wisest mindset to traverse life. There are equal or more people who have dreamt of becoming artists, actors, and yes, poets who have been unable to sustain their lifestyle because they couldn’t support themselves financially. Though possible, I think it is far from the norm. But then again, maybe I’m just overly cautious or jaded.

Nevertheless, I enjoyed listening to her speak, and perform poetry for us. It was truly fascinating to hear her story, and breaking language barriers through communicating through poetry. It’s a noble path to walk.
