There are a few murals I passed on my walk around my neighborhood, but this one of “Big Ang” stood out to me the most since it seemed to have the most meaning. Back in 2016, two artists called Danielle Mastrion and Vincent Santorella painted this mural as a memorial to Angela, who died of cancer. She was better known as “Big Ang” on the show “Mob Wives,” which I never actually watched myself. I am an example of someone that had no clue who she was, yet I soon became aware that she was considered an icon by many. Her sister owns “Country Mouse,” the clothing store which the mural is painted on. This store has been located on this corner for as long as I can remember and is a prime representation of the small business community on Forest Avenue. Despite not knowing much about Big Ang, I think this mural represents my neighborhood. Many in my community either knew who she was or were somehow connected, and I think it great that she has a beautiful memorial that serves as a place for people to pay her respects.

Very cool, I have to say, it does say Staten Island to me.
