This piece doesn’t speak to me as it’s just something to draw people into a business, but I do feel it represents my neighborhood. I live right off of Forest Avenue and whenever I think of the street I think of all the shops and restaurants on it. It drew my eye more than the other store art due to the colorful rendition of a landscape. I liked the surreal landscape because of it’s contrast to Forest Avenue. I also liked that it was a simple piece lacking hidden meaning or imagery. Many of the other pieces I walked by were either not as colorful or seemed out of place and not as telling of the neighborhood. By out of place I mean I don’t understand why it’s there, outside of it possibly being to make a statement of some sort. Not understanding the statement, if there is one, I didn’t feel comfortable choosing it. This led me to go for a simpler piece with clear meaning. The art is just here to draw people’s attention to the shop and hopefully bring in business.

It certainly is eye catching, do you think Berger would consider it publicity?
