Meeting Geoffrey was cool, his art forms don’t exactly interest me, but he had a good story and passion behind the work. It was nice to see he was so open about sharing his struggles as an up-and-coming artist. He worked for free to help get his name out there and kept working at it even when it wasn’t bringing good returns. His passion was also obvious seeing as he was willing to go against his parents and continue without being supported by his family. He also felt so strongly about a piece of his work that he wasn’t willing to sell it. The story of perseverance through passion is what made me come to enjoy the meeting. It’s really cool to see one of these stories where it actually works out as opposed to when they end up not making it big and forever being a starving artist. I’m sure his story was even more inspirational to anyone who dreams of being an artist, but it was inspirational even for me. Throughout these meetings, I’ve come to understand I don’t need to enjoy their expertise to enjoy hearing the stories of how they came to their current position.
