While I don’t have any interest in creating plays, I had some more faith in my creative dreams after Stephen’s visit. They made me realize that art has more impact when you’re not creatively limited by corporations or higher-ups more interested in making a profit. Sometimes when I brainstorm ideas for things (mostly video games) I try to have some marketability in mind, but I always document things that I would think are fun.
I also really resonated with how Stephen mentioned that he would create stories in his head as I child. I used to do that too, sometimes I do that now, but I do this so often that I sometimes feared there was something wrong with me. Now, I know “silent” creative expression or thoughts are not uncommon and are even the sign of a potent creative.
