This work of art does, indeed, speak to me because the two hands at the top give me a sense of unity with my neighborhood. Speaking of, I think this mural well represents the neighbor as it speaks to to the diverse culture (portrayed by the parrot). In this neighborhood, you find people of many cultures and backgrounds. It is right next to the NYFD building, so I think it’s here to remind Ney York City that, during any tying time, there is hope. Currently most notably in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, seeing this mural definitely does give me hope.
