Having Chris LoPorto as our guest speaker was a positive experience that was greatly welcomed. Unlike previous guest speakers, Chris LoPorto is a musician that opened up about numerous aspects related to his worked. I enjoyed the music that he produced, and it was surprising to see him in person because it looked like two different personalities. In the music videos Chris was very vocal, loud, and outgoing but in person he seemed calm and a little reserved. Chris mentioned how the worldwide pandemic has impacted his work and the band that he is a part of. When asked about his demographic and how it varies, I was surprised to hear that his band had sold more tickets, has more listeners, and done more concerts overseas than in the United States. Moreover, I enjoyed listening to him explain his writing process as well as the recording process and what he enjoys the most. Chris did mention that he had to conform to recording at home and doing a lot of the process from his home which I enjoyed due to the fact that previous artists had a positive outlook and stated that the virus progressed their work while Chris had a more neutral outlook on this. It is evident that when someone is not in their natural workspace, such as a studio, the work they create changes, and this can be both in a positive and negative way, which Chris addressed differently from other artists. I could relate to Chris more than the other guest speakers as I listen to numerous genres of music often but do not look at painted art often and I enjoyed this.
