Who am I? Good question. Not as good a question as, perhaps, “What am I doing here?” But that can be better answered on another section of this site. For now we’ll just focus on my background.

"What's going on over in the distance?"

Born and raised in the Gravesend section of Brooklyn to a Syrian Jewish family, I identify myself as an American more than anything. I often have to remind myself when reading about colonial America that I technically have no ties to it at all. Culture isn’t that important to me, as the key derivative of any society is its cuisine. And I’ll eat a burrito, or schnitzel, or some weird combination of the two with some thai peanut sauce. So where I’m from is not as interesting as what’s for lunch.

Currently, I am a statistics major, hoping to be a statistical analyst of some form or another. In my spare time I enjoy things like the Simpsons, South Park, podcasts, fantasy football, as well as music. I play the bass guitar, and am into bands like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Radiohead, Foo Fighters, the White Stripes, the Raconteurs, and all of their influences and more.
