Hi, my name is Antonio Lopez. I am from Uniondale, Long Island. For the majority of my childhood, I went to a private middle school in Westbury, Long Island. There is where my passion for science began as I was able to work with Stony Brook medical students and construct a presentation, paper, and experiment of my choosing. It was the most challenging and rewarding long term project I had ever done.
The music wing of Uniondale High School is what launched my interests of music and performance. I would hear our jazz band free-form practice, Discuss music and artists with music students, and, most importantly, it is where I began my involvement with the Rhythm of the Knight Show Choir. I sang, acted, and danced all at once with my show choir. I performed in Lincoln Center, the Arie Crown Theatre, and the Hammerstein Ballroom- just to name a few. It was the most eye-opening experience I had. As a result, I have a huge passion for dancing and acting.
These are the reasons why i want to pursue a double major in Biology and Theatre. I love learning about the sciences and I love to act and perform.
The picture I included was taken at Lincoln Center this past march for the FAME show choir competition. That performance was one of my proudest moments with my team and for myself. The audience loved us so much. If you can’t tell, I’m the one wearing the white poofy wig, jumping in the air.
