Gentrified v. Gentrifiers

Who are the “Gentrified”? And who is it that “gentrified” them? These create a controversial topic, examining the immigration patterns of those who have lived in Williamsburg throughout it’s established years. It it right to say that those who live in Williamsburg today “gentrified” those who lived there years before? Or is this simply a new wave of immigration that Williamsburg is seeing?
