Wondering who designed this site? We are an ethnically diverse group of Macaulay Honors College freshman enrolled in the Peopling of NYC seminar at Queens College. Throughout the course of the spring 2012 semester, we have read articles concerning various issues associated with diversity in New York City. These readings were supplemented with weekly reactions on our blog and class discussions on technical issues, such as ethnicity, immigration, migration trends, and transnational ties. Our specific neighborhood of interest was Jackson Heights. With the aid of our professor, Donald Scott, and ITF, Tsai-Shiou Hsieh, we present to you an overview of the diversity found within Jackson Heights. Our information has been gleaned from on-site excursions, personal interviews, and scholarly research materials.
