Joenard's Duke-EWH Summer Institute

Me in front of Shepard Hall, CCNY.

My name is Joenard Camarista and I am a third-year biomedical engineering undergrad at The City College of New York and the Macaulay Honors College. My interests lie in consumer biomedical devices, mobile biosensors, and diagnostic medicine. I hope to pursue a masters degree in biomedical engineering and then an MBA.

I am the president and founder of the Engineering World Health at CCNY club. I have previously conducted cardiovascular engineering research in the Wallace H. Coulter Laboratory under Prof. John M. Tarbell. For four semesters, I was a chemistry workshop leader and liaison for general chemistry.

I am currently a volunteer at City Harvest and the Food Bank and a member of the New York Road Runners. I was on the Macaulay Scholars Council and I designed the official Honors College sweatshirt. Buy one here. I founded a chapter of the National English Honors Society and a writing center at my high school, Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, NJ). I am an AXA Community Scholarship recipient.

A powerful share, I just given this onto a colleague who was doing just a little evaluation on this. And he in reality bought me breakfast because I found it for him.. smile. So let me reword that: Thnx for the treat! But yeah Thnkx for spending the time to debate this, I feel strongly about it and love studying more on this topic. If doable, as you turn out to be experience, would you thoughts updating your blog with extra particulars? It’s extremely helpful for me. Big thumb up for this blog post!

  2. Hmm it looks like your site ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I wrote and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog writer but I’m still new to the whole thing. Do you have any points for rookie blog writers? I’d definitely appreciate it.

    • Hi Britney, thanks for reading my blog! My advice is anticipate who will be reading your blog and catering your content to them. But, always, be yourself and let that show.

Hi, I was recently accepted to Macaulay for BME as well. What kind of research opportunities and internships were available, and how were the classes?
