Blog #3-Photograpy

For this week’s class meeting, Professor Beatrix Reinhardt came to our class and discussed the importance of the border for photographs. I thought it was interesting how Professor Reinhardt’s photos of the Hindu pilgrimage Kumbh Mela were very different from the ones that showed up on the image search online. Reinhardt is the curator for an art exhibit that our class is set to visit next week. I look forward to seeing what photos she selected for the gallery. After Reinhardt’s lesson, we reviewed the photos from the High Line. I enjoyed seeing the different photos but I thought this part was somewhat boring. I would have preferred that only a handful of students describe their photos. After the class, we traveled to the Brooklyn Museum for the night at the museum trip. Although I enjoyed exploring the museum, I would have liked to have returned home earlier than we did.
