Aerial Central Park

Sajid Abdullah

Hello! I live in Brooklyn and went to Brooklyn Technical High School. I am currently studying Electrical Engineering at City College.

Our final project for the Arts in New York class was pretty open ended and so I took advantage of that. We went through many proposals of architecture firms and their ideas of what to do with public space like the PS1 MoMA gallery or the Highline proposals. That really interested and I thought, “Why not propose something myself?” So, that’s what I did. Building off of the idea of a friend, Andrew Gannon, I wanted to use Central Park as my canvas, breathe life back into its splendor. I was always a fan of the Gondola Lifts found all over the world and was saddened by the lack of them in the city (not that we would have any use for them anyway). So I put these two together and formed Aerial Central Park, explained in detail in this Prezi presentation.
