    Paisley,

Your erasure poems says a lot in just a few words. The poem doesn’t inherently rhyme but it has the major element of repetition. As stated in the poem, “They can help you help yourself.” Your piece relates to the original text in a similar way. Your text was a pamphlet for the counseling center at Baruch. Giving a quick read to the pamphlet I decided that the mission of the counselling center is to provide the highest quality of clinical services to promote the emotional, relational and academic potential of all students. Though I believe you lean towards offering another option to individuals who are struggling to get help.
Not everyone is comfortable enough to be speaking with a counselor (especially if they’ve never met them before). Sometimes talking to friends can be easier and they most likely will have your best interest in mind. The central focus of “getting help” is also delivered in an effective manner. Your poem also speaks volumes, especially in this day and age where mental health issues are often suppressed and not talked about freely. Overall, this is a very unique rendition of the erasure poem and the inclusion of elements such as the cut out text adds to its distinct appeal.
