Welcome to my senior honors thesis project: The Geography of LGBTQ Collective Memory in New York City, 1945-1968! My name is Nancy Larcher and I am a graduating senior at Macaulay Honors College at the City College of New York, majoring in history and political science. This project studies the history of the LGBTQ community in New York City between 1945 and 1968 through physical locations and collective memory. Follow the navigation bar to read my paper as a PDF or as separate sections on this website, along with my walking tour.

This two-semester research project would have not happened without the mentorship of my professors: Dr. Elizabeth Reis, Dr. Lisa Brundage, Gwen Shaw, and Allison Guess. In addition, I am extremely grateful for the support from my classmates in the Springboard course.
