In this Arts in New York City class, I created three separate projects including a Narrative and Curatorial project, a photo portfolio, and a city stories project. Each of these projects shines a different light on the importance and presence of art work throughout New York City. Throughout this class, we visited dozens of museums, public art works, and even attended a ballet, The Rite of Spring. Through these trips, I was able to familiarize myself with different artists, mediums, and locations of presentation.

You can find all three projects in the menu bar, as well as links to other project websites. My curatorial project demonstrated the necessity of curation at a gallery, and how it changes the way that a viewer understands an artist’s work. My photo portfolio includes pictures I took throughout New York City in which represent a certain art medium or artist’s concept. For my city stories project, I decided to create a poem about public art, specifically graffiti, in New York City. I hope you enjoy it!
