Administration News
1. Commons will be used longer than expected. Oh construction woes…
  1. 3rd floor 3N will soon be used for needed office space
  2. Bare with Macaulay as the building is under construction
2. Internships
  1. Jan 2014 – when Gianina joined us!
  2. New grant: a new intern and hire will help to develop a new system for internships across all interests that Macaulay students are focused on.
    1. Certain schools have started seeing the system (Lehman, John Jay)
    2. The “Simplicity” system will allow for resumes to be uploaded
    3. Will help create a resume book
    4. Also has a resource library
      1. Helping Students Thinking About Changing Majors: information about opportunities based on different majors like timelines
    5. Will be able to tell you if you’re qualified right off-the-bat.

Uh oh, people are emailing Gianina about internships from NYU, India, etc! Especially an issue with organizations who offer Macaulay-only internships who don’t want the general public to see.
1. A new form has been added to post to try and prevent these issues.
2. A new system will be implemented once it’s figured out

New resume book system would help students to opt in and see only the positions they are most interested in. ~a more personalized Macaulay Monday
For Macaulay Now posts if it says contact Gia for more information, those are MHC student specific. If not, it is ok to share those opportunities with others.
CUNY 2020: pitched ideas for cabaret room

Contact Gia!
1. If there’s an organization that you’d like to intern at, let her know! She’ll keep an eye out and see what can be done.
2. If there’s a bug, glitch, error on the Macaulay Now site, let her know! She’ll make sure it’s fixed.
3. If you’re a club leader and want to cohost an event, let her know! Macaulay would love to work with you.

Volunteer opportunities – not supervised under a certain person
Gianina will be on maternity leave: June 20^th – September.

Club Updates
1. South Asian Health Initiative: meeting for general interest
2. Humans of Macaulay: recruiting photographers for campuses, want to expand actual club so that there is a meeting per month, trying to interview seniors
3. Mabuhay: focusing on working with the organization they work with to figure out their summer trip to help aid relief from tycoons and environmental justice
4. Global Brigades: 50 people came for regional conference and attending workshops. No more event plans for the rest of the year. Next is the trips: Medical/Dental/Public Health Brigade in Nicaragua and Human Rights Brigade in Panama
5. Psych Update: newsletter complete, needs to be printed. Working on plans for wellness event.
6. Messenger: working on next issue
7. Law Society: Event at Columbia law
8. Hillel: launch next semester, want speakers
9. Chamber Music: will be performing at arts night and have meetings (join them!)
10. Macaulay Triplets: arts night
11. Debate Society: have had a couple meetings, seems like they have a good membership group. Some attended another competition at Wellesley. Want to create an event at Macaulay.
