Number 48 Art Critique

During our conversation at the museum, we mainly analyzed what was there in the art piece. Rather than debating the presumed history, we opted to observe only the superficial aspects of the painting. We didn't discuss the significance of each shape or composition of the work, or the juxtaposition of the shapes, but had we the time we would have.

In this analysis we discussed a lot of the historical context of the painting as well as some of the artist's intentions. We compared this modern painting to a lot of the other older paintings we had seen at the museum. We could have described the painting more and we could have discussed some of the formal properties of the painting such as tone, material and medium.

A Cold Winter Night

We analyzed the relationships between the connections of the objects in the painting and connected it to the natural life cycle. We focused on the context of the painting, specifically on the support of each organism. We didn't analyze the size or the materials that were used. If we had more time, we would've considered the scale, colors, time of creation and materials of the painting.
