Le Tour du Monde en 80 Jours!

How long does it take to travel around the world? According to Jules Verne, it only takes 80 days. Yet according to the small company of actors at the Café de la Gare, it takes about an hour and a half. The actors spoke quickly, and in French no less, so I only understood about 80% of what they said. Yet the humor was unmistakable. There were jokes about DSK, webcams, songs from the Beatles, and inside jokes that only those very familiar with French culture could understand. And much, much more. There was even a scene that was done in fast forwarded motion where the actors all spoke in squeaky voices in order to save time, as they had to close before 10. Who doesn’t love a good, humorous play with a great plot?

  2. I most certainly did, Marc! I was actually mistaken for an authentic French person at one point, so I guess my skills are quickly getting up to par 😀
