Taking a Step Back

This photograph is taken at the hangout place all Baruch students know and love, Madison Square Park. Yet can we blame them? Although only a five-minute walk from Baruch, the plethora of trees and beautiful scenery that extends from all four corners of the park provide an escape from reality that college students often crave. The woman photographed is sitting by a tree, peacefully reading a book. Sitting by a tree under the shade and getting lost in a good book is the ultimate combo for the perfect way to distress. Utilizing nature and literature as a form is of escape is a prime example of finding tranquility in a city as fast-paced as Manhattan.
