The Future of Public Housing in New York City

In Baruch College’s IDH 40001H Macaulay Honors Seminar on Shaping the Future of New York City, we have examined the issue of public housing and the New York City Housing Authority. NYCHA, long considered the “best” public housing authority in the country, is now in substantial distress.

In our semester long research project, we have applied the information we have learned in class, in observation of NYCHA developments, and in interviews with NYCHA residents and staff, to present the  crisis as it deepens and the new strategies that are being proposed.
