Little Italy: A slice of an amazing culture, right here in our backyard

Our project was on Little Italy. We chose Little Italy because well everyone knows about Italian stuff like ancient Rome or Italian cars (which was Peter’s part). However not many people know about the history of how, and why Italians came to America (Rael’s part). We also thought it would be interesting to learn more about the history and little details about the now famous “little Italy” (Joshua’s part). Finally, Maddy thought it would be interesting to talk about the best Italian restaurants, and foods offered in Little Italy because who doesn’t love Italian food? It was a fun place to research, as well as visit, and the project gave us the opportunity to research future eating destinations. ☺ We also learned about The San Gennaro Festival, and a bit of its history…a festival some of us did not know existed. It was also a nice refresher on Italian history, (thank you Peter!) history that we did learn in high school, but needed a little reminding. Below is a link to our powerpoint on Little Italy.
