This article mentions the change in China’s energy supply to a cleaner one — they are cutting back energy sources that derive from fossil fuels, and instead, utilizing solar and wind power energy. This is a huge movement for China, and also for the global world. The country is planning to put an end to coal and fossil fuels as their sources of energy as it is causing a terrible amount of pollution for its residents. In fact, there are statistics that support the excess of premature deaths that occur to Chinese residents living in these industrial areas. From an economical standpoint, China also decided that investing in renewable energy sources can help foster the economy and create new jobs for the rising population in China. They are also taking a stance on climate change, and actively attempting to start movements to fight against it. It is definitely interesting to note that with China vying to make better changes to its country in terms of their environment, they are also making the country better for its residents, by attempting to minimize premature deaths and open more positions in the workforce. It is imperative to make these changes for people to understand that helping the environment become a better place will make their lives better. If we breathe cleaner air, and are surrounded by a peaceful environment, our mind and health will be put at ease. We must have incentives such as new work positions to allow residents and country leaders to want to propagate environmental friendly policies which will actually propel their healths and well beings — an effect they will see in the long term, rather than the short term. Humans are so concerned with the short term effects of making the environment cleaner, that giving jobs is a good start. The sole fact that they are acknowledging that climate change is real and exists is a huge step for China. A country mainly deemed as conservative and ethnocentric stepping up to the fight against climate change speaks levels compared to the “advanced” United States president who continuously vouches that the climate change issue is a pure hoax. By the energy supply shift in China advancing, this can lead to a global revolution. Since most of our trading business relies on China, this renewable energy system can influence many other countries conducting business with China. However, in light of these events, there are also negative effects from China’s slow withdrawal of coal and fossil fuels. Producers of the coal business are losing great amounts of money from China, as they heavily rely on exporting to this country due to the sheer magnitude of production by China. In terms of the United States and China, the United States can greatly benefit from this new energy source that China is propelling. United States is already a large exporter of natural gas through the process of revolutionizing shale and fracking techniques. Through China’s search of consistent renewable energy sources, we can hint at a possibility of an energy revolution as China has a huge influence over major countries.
