class, our final class session on May 15 will be a field trip to the Brooklyn Navy Yard, where we will have a tour of the Building 92 museum from 10-11 and a walking tour of the environs from 11-12. (you can return to QC before the end of free hour.) it is a remarkable place that straddles NYC’s past and future, and our visit promises to be one of the most interesting and memorable activities of the semester. you can check out the website for more info and directions: http://www.brooklynnavyyard.org/index.html. (an article from the 5/8 NYTimes provides a glimpse of what is happening at the yard: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/05/09/nyregion/brooklyn-navy-yard-is-home-to-manufacturing-cooperative.html?_r=0.) it is accessible by public transportation but from Queens it’s likely to be quickest and easiest by car. (i could drive up to four people to and from QC if necessary.) please make your plans now so you don’t miss out on a great opportunity! ar
