Reading a scientific paper/journal can be difficult when reading certain scientific rhetoric and vocabulary. Using context clues helped me in understanding the article. Using the Journal Article Notebook helped me understand the scientific paper better; finding main points and highlights helped condense the information I needed to know and identifying keywords helped to have a grasp on the subject of what I was reading. This annotating method made reading the lengthy, information-loaded scientific paper less intimidating and overwhelming.
