So far, the proposal for the expansion of the 82nd Street Partnership and Jackson Heights Corona Business Improvement District has not received significant resistance. This is surprising considering the controversy surrounding the formation of other BIDs in New York City. The only resistance it has experienced stemmed from a rumor that the BID would kick street vendors out of the area. A goal of the 82nd Street Partnership is to turn people who do not care about the BID extension into supporters.
