Introduction
Astoria, Queens is fast becoming a hub of hip culture and diversity. Widely viewed through the lens of the past as a predominantly Greek and Italian neighborhood, its recent development has been mostly overlooked. The migration of youth into the area has brought movement to what was once a quiet neighborhood. Additionally, it has also encouraged gentrification of the area which, although good in some ways, also threatens the tightly woven nature of the community.
