Project Outline
I think the clothing that people of Latin America would be a something worth looking into. Many people who come into the United States from Latin America usually come from poverty and I think it would be interesting to see how their life here in NYC would affect the type of clothing they wear and also how they still keep some of the fashion from back home. I am also interested in the different occasions they would dress up or wear a certain attire, such as festivals and holidays. There are also some traditional clothing such as the Mexicans who wear that traditional dress or a shawl and Mexican/Hispanic men who would wear like a cowboy hat or a belt buckle with a buttoned up short sleeve shirt. I think it would be interesting to see how coming to live in New York City and having to adjust to climate difference as well as having a new economic status from what they had in their home countries could be reflected by the the type of clothes they wear.
