In this interdisciplinary seminar, students will critically examine the history, trends, and contemporary debates surrounding the migration, immigration, and movement of the people and population of New York, and produce their own investigations and narratives with a view toward sketching a clearer, more comprehensive picture of the city’s people.

Constance Rosenblum is a Visiting Professor at Macaulay Honors College. She was a longtime editor at The New York Times, where she edited the Arts & Leisure section and later the City section, which focused on life in New York, The City. In addition, her books have been critically praised. She is the author of Boulevard of Dreams: Heady Times, Heartbreak, and Hope Along the Grand Concourse in the Bronx and Habitat: Private Lives in the Big City. 

Andres Orejuela is Instructional Technology Fellow at Macaulay Honors College.
