This study examined the impact of potted plants on the
quality of life in NYC Neighborhoods.
❖ The data used in this study was collected by taking a
walking-survey of four NYC Neighborhoods of different
income levels. We compared the number of potted plants
present to neighborhood crime rates.
❖ The data showed higher numbers of potted plants in
higher income neighborhoods.
❖ Research revealed higher income neighborhoods have
less crime.
❖ Therefore, communities with lower crime rates are also
more likely to have more flora throughout the
neighborhood.
