The enrgy within us

Just as I begun to think there is no area of art that I haven’t seen I’ve been struck my one in a most unexpected time.
Today, as every other Saturday, on my way to a French class, in the French Institute: alliance Francaise; I came across something that I have never seen before: an exhibition that combines work of artist, composer, planner, and the public. This construction is located in a dark room, where block of plastic and cables that connect them are based on the structure of Shanghai. As the creators explain the “matrix” is suppose to symbolize the energy that passes between people.
What I really enjoyed in this exhibit is the fact that from the moment one steps into the room, he or she, takes an active part in this exhibition. Depending on the move one makes and the interaction one has with the light the structure changes its color and alternates the music. At first the viewer doesn’t even realize how it is happening, but than he notices that coming from above the entrance there is a stream on light dawning onto the floor, and once it’s interrupted (the energy is “broken”) it alternates the current that goes to the circuit.

If you can, I strongly recommend stopping by FIAF (22 East 60th Street) to experience this. The exhibition will be open till October 24.
