When dancing, you are free to let go of all your stresses and paint a picture with your body and feet. That is the reason I dance and the reason I love it so much. There is nothing better than after a long day of school and/or work than to just go out onto the dance floor and practice with your partner. Through this process of practicing and working out problems in connection between the two bodies, you and your partner become one entity. You form a bond with your partner that cannot be replicated even in a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship. 

 Two partners learn the inside and outs of each other's bodies, temperaments, and feelings whether they like it or not. This unity that forms between two people as a result of dancing together is the reason why i love dancing so much. There is nothing in the world more beautiful both physically and emotionally than the movement of two people in perfect unity. This weekend I was lucky enough to be at the Grand Dancesport Cup to witness this.  

The hall is laid out with a dance floor in the center and spectators on the sides and three floors of balcony seating above. Three huge crystal chandeliers hang from the ceiling and illuminate the floor. THe lighting in the hall is soft making the atmosphere a regalone. The balconies are all decorated with intricate moldings and paintings. 

Every year I look forward to the Grand Dancesport Cup. I love this competition because the owner of my dance studio, a father-like figure in my life, created this event to promote an appreciation for Ballroom dancing. The venue is magnificent, the dancing exquisite and the company superb. I love this atmosphere because the people here are all gathered to appreciate the same art form so this creates a unity within the audience whether or not each person knows each other.
